The New Braunfels Community Foundation began in 2009 when a group of civic-minded individuals saw the need to create a local community foundation that offers individuals, businesses and families a professional and efficient way to match philanthropic efforts with the needs of the New Braunfels area. Community Foundations provide a tax-wise way to give. While a donor-advised fund with a community foundation closely resembles a private foundation, donors enjoy maximum tax advantages for income, gift and estate purposes. A donor-advised fund can be either limited or endowed.
All of this can be done at the fraction of a cost of a private foundation operating separately and relieves the donor/ philanthropist from managing the investment.
