Ola Armstrong Scholarship – The GVTC Foundation

Recipients of the 2026 Ola Armstrong Scholarship are those that exemplify characteristics of community involvement by volunteering in the communities in which they live.

The 2025 scholarship amount is $15,000, payable up to $10,000 per semester with the option to disburse funds across several semesters if desired. The GVTC Foundation will require proof of enrollment and a copy of the current tuition bill for each disbursement. All funds will be paid directly to the school.

The mission of the GVTC Foundation is to profoundly enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve, through charitable contributions and volunteer service in support of our program goals (www.gvtcfoundation.com).

The GVTC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the goal of building and supporting stronger communities within the GVTC serving area.

Requirements

  • Live within the GVTC residential service area (ILEC or CLEC)
  • Home address submitted to meet the residency requirement must subscribe to at least one GVTC residential service (Internet / Phone / Video)
  • Residency and GVTC residential service requirements must be met at the time of application and also when the scholarship is awarded
  • Attend a public, private or home school for no less than two academic years
  • Be in senior year of high school and post-secondary education bound within one year
  • Have applied to an accredited college or university and subsequently been accepted at the time of funding of the scholarship
  • Exhibit academic excellence by having maintained an accumulated GPA of 85 or higher for junior and senior years of high school
  • Participate in community service, volunteer work, or obvious contribution to the family household or business
  • Provide a completed Scholarship Application with all required attachments online by the deadline.
