In his relationship with others, Gary Simon was generous, friendly and courteous to all, liked and respected by all. In turn, he respected young and old.
He assumed leadership and responsibility in his studies, in athletics and toward his family.
He was honest, enthusiastic and creative.
He loved the outdoors.
He loved all sports and gave his full measure of effort. He was humble in winning or losing, striving always to learn from his mistakes rather than complain or blame others.
He was proud of his school, and his school was proud of him.
The NBHS Gary Simon Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants who:
* Are current New Braunfels High School graduating seniors;
* Have participated in NBHS athletics;
* Demonstrate leadership;
* Demonstrate school pride; and
* Demonstrate love for the outdoors
